When I was nine years old I developed a sharp soreness in my
little toe, which was diagnosed as a bone infection. I was given
antibiotics for the supposed infection, but instead of my toe
getting better, it got worse and worse and soon both my feet and
legs became sore and very swollen. Soon after both my hands and
arms to the elbow became sore, inflamed, and swollen. I couldn't
sleep or walk. My parents were told that this was all due to a
virus, which was spreading. They said they couldn't control the
infection and I should immediately be hospitalized. In ten days I
was seen by seven specialists and the diagnosis was the same:
reflex dystrophy due to unknown virus.
My parents took me to Dr. Devi so I could get acupuncture to get
some sleep before they took me to hospital. At this point I had to
be carried, I could not walk.
Dr. Devi traced the problem to the ingestion of lecithin in a
granola bar I had eaten 14 days before because it was the only
thing that was not on my normal diet, which was watched very
carefully because of my asthmatic condition. I had saved part of
the granola bar in my school bag. Since I didn't like the taste I
didn't eat all of it. Dr. Devi treated me for the granola bar,
first treating me through my mom or dad as my surrogates, and later
directly on me. It took about 30 treatments every hour or so to get
my advanced condition under control. Once my body no longer saw the
lecithin in the granola bar as poison, the entire symptom complex
vanished completely in three days. I am 24 years old now and I
never had any trace of that problem again.
